Welcome, to the Creative Arts Program (CAP) for Kids, located in Salt Lake City, Utah! We are a progressive Creative Arts based program providing children with Integrated Arts Educational experiences! Students join us from all parts of the Salt Lake Valley to explore weekly thematic lesson plans through Integrated Arts Instruction.
The Creative Arts Program (CAP) for kids aims to teach to the 3 learning styles: visual (learns through seeing), auditory (learns through listening), and tactile/kinesthetic (learns through moving, doing, & touching) through Integrated Arts Instruction. CAP for Kids achieves teaching to the 3 learning styles through providing educational experiences based in the Creative Arts, including: creative movement, creative drama, music, visual art, and creative writing. Each CAP student is provided the opportunity to explore weekly themes through seeing, listening, moving, doing, & touching.

- 50/60 minute Creative Arts Explorations 1 to 6 years old
- Creative Arts Program (CAP) for Kids Preschool 3 to 5 years old (Tuesday &
Thursday 9:00 - 12:00. Thursday 9:00 - 1:30 option)
- Creative Arts Program (CAP) for Kids Summer Camp 3 to 6 years old (Tuesday &
Thursday 9:00 - 12:00)
Arts Concepts used to explore weekly thematic lesson plans, include:
- Movement/Dance Concepts: body shape, level, direction, pathway,
size, relationship, speed, weight, rhythm, energy, and flow.
- Drama Concepts: character, audience, actor/actress, mime,
improvisation, voice, body
- Visual Art Concepts: planning, canvas, medium, artist, line, shape,
color, texture, space
- Music Concepts: pulse, duration, tempo, pitch, dynamics, structure,
timbre, texture
- Creative Writing: Focuses on children’s self-expression. Children who draw are children who will write. All of our arts based activities that develop children's fine motor skills pave the way for children to begin writing their letters, shapes, and numbers. The CAP Preschool focuses on the reading and writing of letters, numbers, and shapes. CAP Preschool encourages students to use letters, numbers, and shapes in artwork & writing, to express feelings, create stories, or songs at an age appropriate level.
